2011 Season: Selected by the Broncos in the fourth round (108th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft. Carter was one of four rookies to have played in all 16 games. He logged 10 starts and recorded 49 tackles (41 solo) with one sack. He also had seven tackles on special teams. - 2010: Carter started all 14 games as a senior for the University of Oklahoma, finishing third on the team with 96 tackles (59 solo) and adding four interceptions (38 yds.) to earn consensus All-America honors in addition to receiving first-team All-Big 12 Conference accolades from the league coaches… Led the Sooners in tackles in four games, including a 17-tackle effort in a win vs. Texas Tech (11/13) that represented a career high and the most by an Oklahoma defensive back in eight seasons… Tied for second in the conference with three interceptions in Big 12 play and was named one of eight national semifinalists for the Lott IMPACT Trophy (college player with biggest impact on team).
- 2009: Carter opened all 13 contests at free safety for Oklahoma and ranked second on the team with 88 tackles (51 solo) while tying for the school lead with four interceptions (24 yds)… Added five pass breakups and a fumble recovery to earn second-team All-Big 12 distinction… Posted double-digit tackle totals on two occasions and added eight tackles and an interception in the Sooners’ Sun Bowl win over Stanford (12/31).
- 2008: Carter played 12 games (2 starts) and totaled 36 tackles (20 solo) for the Sooners on defense in addition to 14 solo stops on special teams… Collected 10 tackles vs. Kansas (10/18) in his first career start.
- 2007: Carter red-shirted during the 2007 season after receiving a medical hardship waiver from the NCAA.
- 2006: Carter played five games for Oklahoma as a true freshman, seeing time mostly on special teams… Established himself as one of the most physical defensive backs on the team.
- HIGH SCHOOL: Carter attended Cheyenne High School in Las Vegas, Nev., where he was a standout in football and basketball… Named to the Las Vegas Sun’s 2000s All-Decade Team as a defensive back.
